- ➤ At the Tri-City Economic Update on Jan. 21, economist Jim Rounds said the local economy is slowing but recession is unlikely. City managers from Chandler, Gilbert and Queen Creek detailed plans including a new Whole Foods, an LG Energy battery plant opening this summer, and a new Ironwood interchange + additional projects to spur growth.
