Florian Nguyen, a Mesa Community College student from Gilbert, was honored with the national Student Leadership Award at Campus Compact’s conference held in Atlanta from March 31 to April 2 — he was recognized for boosting voter engagement and civic responsibility on campus.

HD South will host a family history workshop from 6:30 p.m. to 8:30 p.m. Tuesday, April 15, led by Arizona State University professor emeritus Duane Roen who helped start a project on writing and recording family history for the College of Integrative Science and Arts.

The workshop is for everyone aged 12 and older and requires registration.

Gilbert town officials are reviewing parking regulations and funding methods in its Heritage District—a small but popular downtown area that had 5.1 million visits last year.
