Good morning, Gilbert.

Gilbert’s Heritage District is set for a transformation as private projects like Heritage Park—featuring 47,000 sqft of restaurant, retail, and apartments—open this fall while town projects on road realignments and pedestrian improvements work toward an 18-hour downtown where residents can live, work and play.

Peppur Chambers, who learned from theater, dance, and writing, is launching Collaborative Sign & Design to bring her creative skills to a sign-making business in Gilbert.

Students from 18 Gilbert Public Schools are leading STEM advocacy through the Chief Science Officers program that launches fairs, clubs, and mentorship initiatives.

They attended a Leadership Training Institute earlier this school year (forming the largest delegation of CSOs in the country) and developed campus plans to boost STEM interest.

A Slim Chickens drive-thru is planned for a 1.49-acre lot sold for $2.72 million on April 2 at Morrison Ranch Commercial Center — the property spans about 64,887 sqft near Elliot and Power roads in Gilbert.
