Good morning, Gilbert.

The Arizona Board of Education approved $1.3M in safety grants for school resource officers at 10 Gilbert Public School campuses last week — funding a critical upgrade for student safety — while Higley Unified received $97,500 for one counselor as part of the competitive School Safety Program.

Gilbert’s six-month pilot program with roadside traffic safety signs yielded mixed public feedback and did not show clear reductions in crashes or speeding — officials presented findings at a recent Town Council study session reviewing data from Oct.

2025 through Apr. 2026.

Cactus Yards in Gilbert was named USSSA Outstanding Park of the Year based on 2025 season feedback from players and coaches, marking its sixth national recognition for top amenities, cleanliness and affordability.
