Good morning, Gilbert.
🎓 Education
Nine school districts, including Gilbert Public Schools, will appear before Judge Christopher Coury on June 24 to address a dispute with EVIT over funding for career and technical education programs (which serve over 20,000 students).
The districts say state money should follow their programs while EVIT insists on oversight.
📰 Real Estate
An entity tied to Wentworth Property Co. bought a former gym at the southeast corner of Val Vista Drive and Elliot Road for $4 million on May 21; plans call for converting the 4.51-acre site into a self-storage facility with one two-story and four single-story buildings — retaining the original structure.
