Good morning, Gilbert.

Gilbert Parks and Recreation will hold a beginner’s fishing clinic on July 9 at McQueen Park and the McQueen Park Activity Center from 8:30-10:30 a.m.—the event will teach casting, rig setup, and local fish identification, and participants must pay $5 and show a valid fishing license.

Gilbert college students received academic honors this year on dean's lists and honor rolls at eight colleges—Mount Mercy University, University of Central Missouri, Norwich University, Midwestern State University, University of Dubuque, Union University, Iowa State University and George Fox University.

Gilbert administration changed deadlines for its Quality of Life projects after council concerns and now plans to finish the Freestone Park splash pad and pickleball courts by January 2027.

The town is hiring new staff and will launch a citizen communication campaign to keep residents informed as it faces supply shortages and labor issues.
