Families of five who died in a November 5 crash at Falcon Field have filed wrongful death claims for $243.4 million against Mesa, alleging that poor runway safety measures and nearby incompatible land use contributed to the fatal accident.

Families of the five victims who died in a Falcon Field Airport plane crash last year filed wrongful death claims against Mesa for $243.4 million—alleging the city neglected to maintain a safe runway protection zone and prevent incompatible land uses that contributed to the accident.

Williams Field High School graduate Kendal Bonjour was named one of two high school student-athletes as a 2025 BBB Ethical Champion by the Arizona Interscholastic Association and the Better Business Bureau Pacific Southwest, Central and Inland California.

Her award includes a $1,000 scholarship and an additional $2,500 prize—recognizing her strong character and ethical sportsmanship—while she plans to study entrepreneurship and innovation.

The town of Gilbert has launched a new utility billing portal that offers secure and mobile-friendly access for customers to track water usage in real time and manage service options.

Residents can register using the new account number on the July bill plus pay outstanding balances without risking fees or disconnection.

Town officials said a new law funds paratransit rides only for those living within three-quarters of a mile from bus stops, which limits travel options for disabled riders.

Gilbert leaders will use remaining funds to add rides and study the impact — a step aimed at finding long-term solutions.
