Good morning, Gilbert.

A Filibertos location at 1397 E.

Williams Field Road reopened after an ownership change following its abrupt June closure along with seven other Valley locations. Two other Gilbert locations remained open, and the 24-hour restaurant now serves Mexican food — under new management.

Hundreds of East Valley high school seniors missed the chance to complete the FAFSA form—which is the key to federal aid like Pell Grants, work-study, and low-interest loans—and local schools are now ramping up reminder programs to boost completion rates and help students secure needed funds. Campo Verde in Gilbert is among the schools active in helping students overcome misconceptions about the application process.

The Gilbert Education Foundation has launched its annual 'Power of One' campaign to support students and staff in Gilbert Public Schools.

The nonprofit aims to raise $37,000—one dollar for each student and staff member—while Sun Valley Builders will match up to $2,500 in donations and contests will reward the top fundraising schools.
