- ➤ Restaurateur Charles Barber Jr. changed his plans for the Heritage District by announcing his new restaurant Rosewood at 366 N. Gilbert Road, which will offer a chef driven menu and upscale dining atmosphere with a late night lounge in January—he had previously planned to open his Aftermath Bar and Kitchen for that location. - ➤ Gilbert Public Schools joined seven East Valley districts & hired legal counsel from Osborn Maledon to address potential litigation against East Valley Institute of Technology over contract disputes following the expiration of their previous agreement. Gilbert Independent

- ➤ Arizona Senate President Warren Petersen will introduce a bill during the next legislative session starting Jan 12 to rename Loop 202 as the Charlie Kirk Memorial Loop 202—honoring the late conservative activist who was assassinated on September 10. He said the measure aims to keep Kirk’s legacy alive as the major highway links communities including Gilbert. AZ Family

- ➤ An entity tracing to Rajan Rakheja acquired property that makes up the southeast portion of Crossroads Towne Center in two same-day transactions on Aug. 26 for $26.13 million—of which $19.25 million came as new debt with Bell Bank. The sale includes 154,790 square feet of a community shopping center built in 207 on 17.54 acres—featuring 110,300 square feet of anchor retail and additional planned area development.
