Gilbert Public Schools reported that it spent $36.2 million in voter-approved override funds in fiscal 2026 for staff pay, class sizes, and programs as it used its last 2019 bond money (reported Sept.
15). It plans to ask voters in November for a $136 million bond for capital improvements.
Higley Unified School District completed campus improvement projects during summer break, installing new flooring at Chaparral Elementary, upgrading lighting at Higley High School, and enhancing parking lots at Power Ranch Elementary to maintain safe learning environments.
