- ➤ Gilbert will hold its third annual Family Triathlon from 7—10 a.m. Sept. 27 at Perry High School with a 100—yard swim, a 2—mile bike ride, and a 1—mile run. Participants age 6 and older must register by Sept. 21 for $25 and pick up race packets at Town Hall Municipal II on Sept. 23 from 2—6 p.m. and Sept. 24 from 10 a.m.—1 p.m.—accommodations for disabilities can be arranged during registration. - ➤ Maricopa County continues to hold its AAA bond rating—Standard and Poor’s Global Ratings confirmed a stable outlook amid tough nationwide economic challenges, ensuring a strong financial future for residents. Maricopa County
- ➤ The eastbound lanes of I-10 will be closed from 9 p.m. Friday until 5 a.m. Sunday in downtown Phoenix for maintenance while the westbound lanes of U.S-60 will shut from 9 p.m. Saturday until 9 a.m. Sunday in the Tempe and Mesa area. ADOT will also narrow lanes on the South Mountain and Santan freeways, affecting travel in Ahwatukee and Gilbert — drivers should expect delays. AZ Family
