- ➤ Benson Construction appointed Courtney Dunlap as president on Sept. 15; he will lead the company by improving operations and strengthening client relationships to grow its work across the Southwest—targeting $100 million in annual billings. EDUCATION NEWS
- ➤ Chandler Gilbert Community College—selected to join a three-year Aspen Institute College Excellence Program—will work with partner colleges to align programs with high-demand careers and improve student outcomes. Gilbert Independent
GOVERNMENT NEWS
- ➤ The Gilbert Public Schools Governing Board looked at five new policies on student safety, police and Child Safety interviews, assessments, athletics and employment at its Sept 23 meeting, and did not take final votes. One policy will require automated external defibrillators in every high school and at all athletic events starting in August 2026—further reviews will be held later. Gilbert Independent
- ➤ Gilbert will launch a six-month traffic signage program on Oct. 1 to make roads safer by placing 80 to 100 signs with short messages at ten busy intersections based on collision data—town staff said the program follows council recommendations to help drivers adjust their habits. Officials believe the targeted messages will guide drivers safely through busy areas. Gilbert Sun News
