CULTURE NEWS
- ➤ Hale Centre Theatre will present the MGM musical Singin' in the Rain during a seven-week run starting Oct. 10—running until Nov. 22. It will offer 7:30 p.m. shows Wednesday through Saturday with an extra 4 p.m. show on Thursday through Saturday, and tickets cost between $39 and $65. Gilbert Independent
EDUCATION NEWS
- ➤ Williams Field High School held a ribbon-cutting on Sept. 26 for a new criminal justice facility where students use law enforcement technology+ during hands-on training in forensics, dispatch, court services and corrections. The expanded space features a mock courtroom and breakout labs with simulators that offer dual enrollment credits and certifications+ to help prepare students for careers in law enforcement. - ➤ A recent discussion on water management in Gilbert stressed that developing new water resources is challenging in a desert with limited Colorado River and groundwater supplies.
