  • Found & Flourish opened Sept. 2 at San Tan Village mall in Gilbert at 2270 E. Williams Field Road, suite 108, where the boutique offers handmade local goods, curated finds and creative workshops.  Gilbert Independent

CULTURE NEWS

  • The Common Good, a three-member cover band, will perform at a free concert on Oct. 16 at Water Tower Plaza from 6:30 to 8:30 p.m.—attendees may bring their own blankets or lawn chairs.  Gilbert Independent

ENVIRONMENT NEWS

  • Monday’s heavy rainfall left several Gilbert parks waterlogged and closed—town officials will reassess multiuse fields, ballfields, McQueen volleyball courts, Desert Sky Park, Crossroads Dog Park, and neighborhood park turf until at least Friday, with Freestone Park ballfields evaluated daily starting Wednesday.  Gilbert Independent

HEALTH NEWS

  • A New Leaf, an East Valley nonprofit, has cut its domestic violence support when federal funding drops forced a reduction in court advocacy—from six to two advocates—and this limits immediate legal help for survivors. The organization will host events throughout October, including a Fill the Truck drive in Surprise and a breakfast fundraiser at The Farm at South Mountain, to raise donations and awareness.  The Mesa Tribune
