If you tried to vote at Chandler-Gilbert Community College on Tuesday, you may have met a line. Around 10:30 a.m., the Maricopa County Elections Department reported a high volume of voters there and pointed people to Tumbleweed Recreation Center in Chandler or The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints on Catalina Street in Gilbert.

Voter Adrian Pardee told KTAR News 92.3 FM she heard an election worker call for help about a printer problem. “Voters can still drop off their ballots,” Assistant County Manager Zach Shira told reporters.

  • Wait at 11:30 a.m.: 45 minutes, more than 120 voters in line
  • Vote centers: all 254 opened on schedule at 6 a.m.
  • Voters in line by 7 p.m. could still cast ballots

AZ Family reported the county expected up to 500,000 voters on Election Day. Long lines also showed up at Mesa Community College and Sun Devil Fitness Center, and a printer issue was reported in Gilbert.
