- ➤ Campo Verde seniors led a Project Lead the Way showcase for their biomedical sciences program, displaying student projects and skills from a four-year curriculum. The event showed how hands-on research prepares students for college-level study and careers in science and medicine — encouraging incoming freshmen to join. Gilbert Independent
- ➤ Gilbert Public Schools is planning to close Pioneer Elementary at the end of this school year due to enrollment falling below 400 and a need for costly building upgrades — nearly 50 parents voiced strong concerns at a recent hearing as officials outlined plans to relocate students to nearby schools. The board will review community feedback on Dec 9 and vote on the proposal on Jan 27 while district leaders say the closure will save $2.5 million in operating costs. Gilbert Sun News

- ➤ Gilbert Regional Park will host several pickleball tournaments this winter as courts 1 through 8 are closed for events, including a High School Pickleball Social on November 25th from 5:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m., a Holiday Classic Tournament from December 26th to 28th, a More Bang for the Buck Tournament from January 9th to 11th, and a 2026 Winter Classic Tournament from February 20th to 22nd; courts reopen after each event and players may use public courts at Arbuckle Park and Arrowhead Meadows Park.
