- ➤ Gilbert will kick off the holiday season on Dec. 1 with its annual Water Tower Holiday Lighting at Water Tower Plaza from 6 to 8:30 p.m.—presented by Felix Construction and APS. The event will feature live music, holiday activities, remarks from Mayor Scott Anderson, and country singer-songwriter Christie Huff performing from 6 to 6:45 p.m. before returning for an encore from 7 to 8:30 p.m. Gilbert Independent
- ➤ Valor Christian Center at 3015 E. Warner Road in Gilbert is hosting the Valor Christmas Light Show from Nov. 28 to Dec. 28 with walk-through times of 6 to 9:30 p.m. on Sundays, Wednesdays and Thursdays and 6 to 10 p.m. on Fridays and Saturdays. The show features over 2 million synchronized LED lights, holiday music and a children’s area—ticket prices start at $34.95 plus tax on weekdays and $44.95 plus tax on weekends with discounts for seniors and military, and proceeds support local needs and veterans. - ➤ The Foster Alliance has launched its annual Holiday Toy Drive to collect gifts for foster children, teens and young adults in the East Valley as Christmas nears. Donors can drop off toys or make monetary donations, and organizers will hold Fill Santa’s Sleigh events—one on December 5 at Scottsdale Quarter + additional drop-off points later this month. - ➤ Foster Alliance has kicked off its Holiday Toy Drive to collect new toys for children, teens, and young adults in foster care in the East Valley and Scottsdale, and donors can drop off items at designated sites — the drive is part of a larger effort that includes Fill Santa’s Sleigh events starting Dec. 5 to help foster families celebrate the holidays with dignity.
