Good morning, Gilbert.

Coronado Elementary Mandarin dual language immersion students performed at the fourth annual Gilbert Sister Cities Night at the Garden in a private event that featured cultural exchange with peers from Northern Ireland and China.

School leaders praised the performance for highlighting enhanced language skills and international understanding.

Superintendent Shane McCord (retiring after 31 years) led the Gilbert Days Parade as grand marshal in a fitting send-off, as all 39 schools celebrated his legacy with a float built by Desert Ridge High students parading through the Heritage District along Gilbert Road.
