- ➤ The DAR Desert Wells Chapter presented its bronze JROTC medal and certificate to Higley High AFJROTC Cadet Captain Alexander Shaffer at Williams-Field High School. - ➤ Gilbert is planning a $2.3 billion budget with $1.7 billion for capital projects such as wastewater and park improvements, but town manager Patrick Banger warned fiscal '26 will be difficult due to a $14 million revenue shortfall from the loss of a residential rental tax and a state income tax reduction—officials will hold a preliminary vote on May 20.
