Gilbert Public Schools found guns on two campuses and will speed up the rollout of weapons detection systems, officials said.
Superintendent Shane McCord said the new measures will be put in place soon — reinforcing efforts to keep campuses safe.

Tom Marlowe from Desert Financial Credit Union explained how scammers use different tactics to target victims across age groups—from social media employment scams for Gen Z to romance fraud for seniors.

Hopeful Horizons Counseling opened April 1 at 1176 E.
Warner Road (suite 203) in Gilbert and offers counseling to young men, families and couples in a Catholic and Christian setting. The center also serves secular patients and uses EMDR, CBT and Gottman Method (therapy techniques).

Candice Gonzales, Mesquite High School’s girls basketball coach, was honored on April 11 with the Spirit of Cotton Award after receiving a $10,000 gift from the Phoenix Suns—Phoenix Mercury Foundation to support school athletic programs.
Over her 27 seasons, she built a family-like team culture by organizing team-building events and community programs that guided the Wildcats to a strong record.
