- ➤ On June 10, the Gilbert Public Schools board approved a 5% bonus for Superintendent Shane McCord, adding $12,000 to his $240,000 salary for the 2024-25 fiscal year after meeting key academic and operational goals. Desert Ridge High has improved its winter guard scores over recent years by having high school students mentor their junior high teammates — a strategy that builds talent and eases the transition to high school competition.
