- ➤ Gilbert town officials have reminded residents that non-aerial fireworks are allowed on private property from June 24-July 6 with the homeowner's permission — using fireworks on public property or outside these dates may lead to a $1,000 fine. Gilbert Independent
- ➤ At a long meeting last week, the Town Council rejected a plan to rezone land at Modera Gabriella Pointe for 335 apartments with retail and a proposal to cut public space at Tuscany at Gabriella Pointe because they feared a drop in tax revenue — while they approved a plan to boost apartment units to 367 at Bella Storia. The council’s decisions show its focus on balancing housing needs with preserving commercial revenue opportunities as Gilbert grows. Gilbert Sun News
